Our program is a two-year program.
If your child is 6 years old or older and has attended our Sacramental preparation classes and at least one year of religious education at catholic school, home, or at another parish, he/she is eligible for the reception of the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion.
-Registration can be done online or in person during office hours.
In the first year of preparation, the child will assist our regular catechism (VCR, Bold or BASIC). Please register your child to the program that corresponds according to their age.
In the second year of preparation, the Kids will be taken into a deeper knowledge of the Catholic Faith and be given opportunities to grow in a deeper relationship with God through classes and retreats.
Parents with candidates must attend a Reconciliation workshop Parent/child (date to be determined), and a Parent/child teaching Mass (date to be determined). We encourage all parents of children making these important sacraments to take time in prayer for their children and to refresh their knowledge and understanding of these sacraments. Please do everything you can to help prepare your child for these blessed sacraments.
Please Note: In the second year, a copy of your child's Baptism certificate is required to complete this registration & families must be registered parishioners at St. Jose Sanchez Del Rio Catholic Church to enroll in sacramental Classes. Please register with the parish:

The child should be 7 years old when receiving the first Communion and have completed two years of preparation.
The family must be registered at St. Jose Sanchez del Rio Catholic Church.
Register for classes: at the church office during regular office hours or online.
Provide us with your child's BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE to complete this registration.
Pay the class registration fee online or in person ($80.00).

Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary to complete baptismal grace. "By the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a unique strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence, they are true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed (CCC 1285)
If your child is 14 years old or older and has attended our Sacramental preparation classes in addition to at least one year of religious education with us, at catholic school, home, or another parish, he/she is eligible for the reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation.
Our program is a two-year program
The youth will be taken into a deeper knowledge of the Catholic Faith and be given opportunities to grow in a deeper relationship with God through classes and retreats.
The candidate must attend two retreats here at the parish. 1st retreat is on ( Date to be determined). 2nd retreat is on (Date to be determined).
For the first year of preparation, the teen will join Bold or BASIC.
The candidates must be part of B.A.S.I.C., MASS SERVERS’ TEAM, or CATECHIST ASSISTANTS.
In the second year, Parents and candidates must attend an informative meeting (date to be determined).
An additional meeting will be required for Parents, candidates, and sponsors on (Date to be determined).
We encourage all parents of children making these important sacraments to take time in prayer for their youth and to refresh their knowledge and understanding of these sacraments. Please do everything you can to help prepare your child for this blessed sacrament.

A copy of your child's updated Baptism certificate is required to complete this registration. Please start asking your child’s baptism church to issue the certificate. Provide us with a copy of your child's BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE no later than (Date to be determined).
