What does the Altar Society do?
The Altar Society cares for the altar, main sanctuary, chapel, and sacristy. Our purpose is to help maintain the liturgical needs of our daily worship, to beautify our worship area, and to grow in the community and common service. Some of our duties and responsibilities include the decoration of the Sanctuary prior to Masses and holidays. Altar Society members provide individual assistance which includes the washing, ironing, folding, repair and maintenance of the linens and vestments of the priests and servers. We raise funds primarily through an Annual Fund Raiser – to be announced. The Altar Society is open to all ladies of the community.
Committees include:
· Flowers - This committee involves placement of floral arrangements on the Altar and sees to their care. The committee is in charge of decorating for special occasions and conducts all special collections for flowers from the Church congregation.
· Church Care - This committee is responsible for cleaning and caring for the Church and Altar.
· Linens - This committee is responsible for changing sanctuary linens when necessary, laundering them, supervising the purchase of liturgical materials and the sewing of all Church articles, etc.
